Marzipan is looking for a Marketing Operations Manager to increase the scope of support we can provide for our clients across their CRM, marketing automation, ABM, and data platforms. You'll own the CRM, marketing automation, attribution, lead management, ABM, integrations, AI workflows, and data processes that our clients use to connect marketing campaigns with sales and CRM processes. You'll be responsible for handling client requests and proactively working to improve the overall performance and effectiveness of client marketing systems. Put simply, you'll be the technical backbone of our clients' marketing processes and the person the in-house team trusts when something has to be measured, automated, optimized, or deployed. This role is perfect for someone who loves technical problem solving and lateral thinking but also enjoys contributing to marketing tactics and seeing how their contributions directly improve the performance of digital marketing processes.

What you'll be doing day-to-day

  • Own and evolve our clients' marketing technology stacks: CRM, marketing automation platforms, CMS, ad tracking, attribution tools, and the integrations between them
  • Design, build, test, and deploy automation workflows and lifecycle programs: onboarding, lead nurture, re-engagement, win-back, customer marketing, and ABM-aware sequences
  • Build and maintain lead scoring models (behavioral plus demographic) and lead routing rules via LeanData, native platform routing, or custom flow, aligned to each client's lifecycle stages and SLAs
  • Develop and improve marketing attribution: UTM governance, conversion tracking, multi-touch attribution, and lead-to-deal and lead-to-revenue capture inside HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua, Pardot, and a variety of other tools
  • Manage data quality across the stack: deduplication, enrichment, normalization, suppression management, preference centers, and compliance with GDPR, PECR, CAN-SPAM, and double opt-in workflows
  • Design and deploy AI-assisted workflows: agentic data enrichment, intelligent lead routing, AI sales signal monitoring, and tools to help marketing teams make better decisions with their data, faster
  • Configure and own email deliverability and performance: email design, A/B testing, audience and segmentation management, email reporting, sequences and nurture automation, and QA/QC
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards that show the best performing campaigns, marketing-influenced pipeline, marketing-sourced ARR, channel attribution, lead management, and strategic reports, not just open and click metrics
  • Manage integrations between platforms using native connectors, Zapier, Make, Workato, Clay, and webhook-based or custom API approaches
  • Run audits of our clients' marketing operations to find the process debt, broken or missing functionality, feature gaps, and source appropriate tools or build bespoke processes to solve them

What we'd like you to have

  • 4-6 years in a B2B marketing operations, marketing automation, or CRM ops role, agency or in-house
  • Demonstrable knowledge and hands-on experience working with any of the following platforms: HubSpot (Marketing Hub, Sales Hub, Operations Hub), Salesforce + Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot), Eloqua, Marketo, ActiveCampaign
  • Strong understanding of lead lifecycle modeling, lead scoring, attribution, and pipeline reporting in a B2B context
  • Comfortable with HTML and responsive email design
  • Experience designing and deploying complex automation workflows with branching logic and exit criteria
  • Comfortable with managing software integrations, triage and troubleshooting, and working through error logs
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable in spreadsheets, automation logic, and ideally SQL or platform-native query languages
  • Excellent organization, housekeeping, and attention to detail skills; you leave things better than you found them
  • A genuine interest in AI tooling: prompt engineering, agent design, MCP-style automation, AI-assisted reporting

It would be great if you had

  • HubSpot certifications (Marketing Hub Implementation, Operations Hub, Email Marketing) or Salesforce, Pardot, or Marketo equivalents
  • Experience with Marketo Engage, Eloqua, Iterable, Braze, Customer.io, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Familiarity with Clay.io, ZoomInfo, Apollo, Cognism, Lusha, or other modern data enrichment platforms
  • LeanData or other lead-to-account routing experience
  • Reverse ETL or iPaaS experience: Workato, Tray, Census, Hightouch
  • SQL or basic data warehousing (Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Experience with attribution platforms: FullCircle Insights, Bizible / Marketo Measure, Dreamdata, HubSpot Attribution, native Salesforce attribution
  • Hands-on experience designing AI agents or automation flows for marketing or RevOps use cases
  • Experience working in or with B2B SaaS or life sciences organizations
