Life Science Web Design & Development

Life science web design that converts scientific buyers

We design and build websites for biotech, pharma, medtech, and diagnostics companies. Fast, credible, and engineered to turn researchers, clinicians, and procurement teams into pipeline.

Life Science Web Design

Websites Engineered for Scientific Audiences

Scientific buyers judge credibility in seconds. Before a researcher requests a quote or a procurement team shortlists a vendor, they have already evaluated your website the way they evaluate a paper: does it answer the technical question, show the evidence, and make the next step obvious? Most life science websites fail that test with vague messaging, buried specifications, and no clear path to contact.

We build life science websites that pass it. As a life science website development company, we combine science-literate UX with modern web development: information architecture built around applications and use cases, content structures for technical depth, page speed that survives image-heavy product pages, and conversion paths for every stakeholder in the buying committee. Design, development, SEO, and integrations, delivered as one life science web development project rather than four disconnected ones.

Our Approach

How we design and build your life science website

From discovery through post-launch optimization, every stage is built around your commercial goals and the way scientific buyers actually evaluate vendors.

Discovery & Architecture

Structure that mirrors how scientists buy

We start with your audiences, offerings, and data, then design an information architecture that lets a visitor get from problem to product to proof in as few clicks as possible.

Buyer journey mapping for scientists, lab directors, and procurement

Happy with your current site? We'll work inside it

Not every engagement starts with a rebuild. Plenty of life science teams came to us with a site they liked, or one too big to replace, and asked us to improve it rather than start over. That is normal, and it is work we do every day.

An extension of your team

We work alongside in-house marketers and developers: your tools, your tickets, your release process, and weekly calls with the people who own the site. You keep control; we add capacity and specialist skills.

Your platform, not ours

We build in whatever your site already runs on. No migrations for our convenience, and no pressure to move to a stack we prefer. If the platform works for you, it works for us.

Complex builds welcome

Large sites with years of history, custom templates, and long plugin stacks are familiar territory. We map how everything fits together before changing anything, so we know exactly what depends on what before we touch it.

Why Marzipan

Web design that has to work for scientific scrutiny

A beautiful website that scientists do not trust is an expensive brochure. Our founding team combines science and marketing backgrounds with roughly 20 years in the life sciences, so we design for the reader who checks your claims against your data. Every site we ship is engineered for lead generation and conversion, then proven against it.

Discuss Your Project

Science-literate design and content

We understand assays, instruments, platforms, and services well enough to structure your content credibly, so your website speaks to a PhD without losing the procurement lead.

Conversion paths for every stakeholder

Scientists want specifications and application data, finance wants the business case, procurement wants credibility signals. We design distinct journeys for each, with the right CTA at the right depth.

SEO and speed as foundations

Scientific website design fails if nobody finds it. Our builds ship with clean architecture, schema markup, fast Core Web Vitals, and migration plans that protect every ranking you already own.

Integrated with your stack

HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, analytics, and attribution wired in from day one, so every lead the site generates lands in your pipeline with source data attached.

Who We Build For

Web design for every corner of the life sciences

The craft is the same. The buyers, content, and compliance context are not. We tailor every build to your vertical.

Biotech Website Design

Biotech web design has to make a platform legible to investors, partners, and future hires at the same time. We build biotech websites that explain the science clearly, showcase the pipeline, and scale from seed stage through commercial launch. Biotech website development that grows with you.

Biotech marketing services

Pharma Website Design

Pharmaceutical website design operates under claims discipline. We build pharma web design projects with content workflows your review process can live with, from corporate sites to franchise and product pages.

Pharma marketing services

Medical Device Website Design

Medical device web design has to serve a buying committee: clinical evidence for surgeons, specifications for engineers, and business cases for finance, all findable in two clicks.

Medtech marketing services

Laboratory, Diagnostics & Tools Websites

Laboratory website design and diagnostics sites live or die on findability: product catalogs, application notes, and resource centers that help scientists get to the right SKU fast.

Diagnostics marketing services
Working with Marzipan was a turning point for our digital strategy. The new site is fast, scalable, and delivers qualified leads every week.

FAQs

Life Science Web Design FAQs

What makes life science web design different from general B2B web design?

The audience. Scientific buyers evaluate websites the way they evaluate evidence: they look for technical depth, specifications, application data, and proof before they contact anyone. Life science web design structures content for that scrutiny, serves multiple stakeholders in the same buying committee, and respects the claims and compliance context that pharma, medtech, and diagnostics companies operate in.

Do we need to rebuild our website to work with you?

No. If your current site does its job, we work inside it: new pages and landing pages, SEO improvements, performance fixes, integrations, and ongoing maintenance. We recommend a rebuild only when the evidence supports one, and we show you that evidence first.

Our website is large and complicated. Is that a problem?

No. We start by mapping how your site is put together: themes, templates, plugins, integrations, and how changes get deployed. We agree on a safe way of working before touching anything. The bigger the platform, the more that discipline matters.

How long does a life science website project take?

Most projects run 6 to 12 weeks from discovery to launch depending on scope: page count, custom functionality, content production, and integrations move the timeline most. A focused refresh is faster; a full rebuild with new architecture and content sits at the longer end.

Which platforms and builders do you work with?

WordPress in all its forms, including Divi, Elementor, Advanced Custom Fields, and fully custom themes, plus Sanity, Shopify, Webflow, HubSpot CMS, Drupal, and custom or headless builds on React and Next.js. If you run something else, ask. We have yet to meet a platform we could not work in.

Can you work with our in-house marketing or development team?

Yes, and we often do. We can own the whole website or take a defined slice of it, such as campaign pages, SEO, CRO, or maintenance, and fit into your existing tools and approval process with weekly calls and clear reporting.

Can you redesign our website without losing our search rankings?

Yes, if migration is planned from the start. We map every existing URL and ranking, design the new architecture around what already performs, implement redirects, and monitor Search Console closely after launch. Rankings lost in a redesign usually trace back to migrations treated as an afterthought, which is why SEO sits inside our build process rather than after it.

How much does a life science website cost?

It depends on scope: page count, design complexity, custom functionality, content production, and integrations. A focused marketing site and a full platform rebuild are very different projects. We scope transparently after a discovery call, so you know exactly what you are buying before you commit.
